College Planning Consultation

What is it? The College Planning Consultation lasts between 60 and 120 minutes and is designed to explore whatever college planning issues are important to a student and his or her family. A per consultation fee is charged. Families can schedule as many of these meetings as necessary, both early in the high school years and/or during the application process. As needed, sessions can be scheduled before or after the College Match Consultation.

College Matching Consultation

During a college matching consultation, several steps may be involved:

  • Assessment: We start by understanding the student's academic achievements, extracurricular activities, interests, career aspirations, preferred location, campus culture, financial constraints, and any other relevant factors.

  • Research: Based on the student's profile, we research and identify a list of colleges or universities that align with the student's preferences. We might consider factors such as academic programs, campus size, location, campus culture, reputation, and financial aid offerings.

  • Guidance: We guide the creation of a well-rounded college list that includes reach, match, and safety schools. They might advise on the application process, deadlines, standardized tests, essays, recommendation letters, and other application requirements.

  • Customized Recommendations: We tailor our recommendations to the student's specific needs and goals. For instance, if a student is interested in a particular field of study or has specific extracurricular passions, we might suggest colleges known for their excellence in those areas.

  • Support and Review: Throughout the process, we provide support, answer questions, and review application materials to ensure they meet the standards expected by colleges. We may also assist in preparing for interviews or campus visits.

  • Financial Aid and Scholarships: We might also offer advice on financial aid options, scholarships, grants, and other resources to help manage college costs.

The goal of a college matching consultation is to empower the student to make informed decisions and to maximize their chances of being accepted into a college that best fits their academic and personal preferences.
